Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - Five different players scored for the Utah Grizzlies as they went on to defeat the Bakersfield Condors 5-4, Saturday night at the E-Center.

In the first period, Colt King put the Grizzlies on the board first, when he broke free into Condors territory and fired the puck off of the glove of netminder Ryan Munce. Mid-way through the first period with the Grizzlies a man short, Brad Herauf stole the puck and then squeaked it past the pipes, lifting the Grizzlies to a 2-0 lead going into the first intermission. Jeff Miles was credited with the assist on the short-handed goal.

Just 32 seconds into the second period, Louis Dumont hooked up with his favorite target, Ryan Kinasewich, for the third time in two nights, giving the Grizzlies a 3-0 lead. Bakersfield struck back at the 6:11 mark with Sean Venedam lighting the lamp. At the 11:23 mark, center Kris Kasper tipped a puck fired from the point into the back of the net, giving him his first goal on the season. The Condors added a goal at the 17:56 mark when Sean Venedam found the back of the net for the second time in the game, making the score 5-3 in favor of the Grizzlies.

The Condors drew within one when a Kevin Truelson shot deflected off of netminder Justin Eddy and into the goal on the power-play. The Grizzlies stalled the Condors final comeback thanks to clutch saves by Eddy and stellar defense, holding on for the 5-4 victory.

The Grizzlies return to the E-Center next Friday and Saturday hosting Fresno. Face-offs are scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
