
Checkers' Jamieson Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Charlotte Checkers' left wing Dusty Jamison is the In
Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Jan. 16-22.
The 24-year-old scored five goals and nine points to help Charlotte go
3-0-1 and remain in fourth place in the South Division with 46 points at
21-16-4.
Selected in the fifth round (136th overall) by the Montreal Canadiens
in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Jamieson began the week by scoring four
points (3g-1a), including his second hat trick of the month and the
game-winning goal in a 5-3 win over Pensacola on Jan. 17. He had his
second-straight four-point night (2g-2a) in a 5-3 win at Columbia on Jan.
20 and had an assist in a 3-2 overtime loss against Greenville on Jan. 21.
The 6-foot-3 and 195-pound Jamieson leads the Checkers with 19 goals,
21 assists and 40 points and is second on the team with
15 points (4ppg-11ppa). He has scored in eight of the last 10 games,
including three multiple-goal games, a multiple-assist game and five
multiple-point games.
A native of Forest, Ontario, Jamieson spent five seasons in the Ontario
Hockey League playing for Guelph from 1997-99 and for Sarnia from
1998-2002. He scored 229 points (92g-137a) in 298 career OHL games and in
2001-02 he led Sarnia with 44 goals in 68 regular season games and five
goals in five playoff games.
On behalf of Dusty Jamieson, a case of pucks will be donated to a
Charlotte area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the
exclusive
puck supplier for the ECHL.
In Glas Co has donated over 13,500 pucks to youth hockey
organizations
in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the award in 2000-01. In Glas
Co also donated all of the limited-edition pucks that were used during
the opening weekend and auctioned off for hurricane relief.
