SAUGET, IL - The Gateway Grizzlies and Washington Wild Things split a doubleheader on Monday at GCS Ballpark in front of 5,872, the third largest crowd of the season. The Grizzlies took game one 7-4 and Washington upended Gateway 9-3 in game two. The win in game one gave the Grizzlies the series win, their first since June 3-5.
In game one, the Wild Things scored three runs on two hits in the first inning off of Grizzlies starter Blake Barber. Chris Sidick drove in a run on a single, Derek Perren had a sacrifice fly and another Wild Things run scored on a Barber wild pitch.

Logan Parker and Charlie Lisk followed with back-to-back home runs, the eighth of the season for both Grizzlies.
Gateway tacked on three more runs on three hits in fifth to take a 7-3 lead. Agreste drove in a run on a single and Parker knocked home two with a double.
