Grizzlies And Admirals Get Ready For A Battle Tomorrow Night In The E-Center
February 25, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Utah Grizzlies News Release
WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH (Feb. 25, 2003) - The Utah Grizzlies (29-24-3-2) and the Milwaukee Admirals (21-19-12-4) will meet at the E-Center on Wednesday making it two games in the past eight days between each other for the clubs. Last Tuesday in the Bradley Center, Milwaukee took the measure of their West Division rival 7-4.
The Grizzlies and Admirals have met five times this season with five games remaining on the season schedule. Thus far Milwaukee has won four of the five games including three of four at the E-Center. After Wednesday's game, the four remaining tilts will be played in the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
Last Monday, the two team's National Hockey League affiliates completed a trade that sent Milwaukee's then Captain Bubba Berenzweig to the Grizzlies. His first game for Utah came against his former club last Tuesday and it saw the defenseman record an assist. In four games with Utah since being traded, Berenzweig has two goals and two assists and is a +5 over that stretch.
The clubs are fighting for playoff positioning with Utah owning the seventh spot in the Western Conference and Milwaukee holding on to the 10th and final spot. If the playoffs were to begin today, the Grizzlies and the Admirals would meet in a lightning round best-of-three series. Utah's 63 points have them just three points behind both Chicago and San Antonio for better positioning in the playoff shuffle. Milwaukee's 58 points is just one point better than Philadelphia who is currently on the outside looking in.
Face-off for Wednesday's game is scheduled for 7:00 PM (MST).
