ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades (31-16-10) were shut out by the Jackson Bandits (27-21-7) 3-0 at TECO Arena on Tuesday night. Jackson forward Jeff Bes had a goal and an assist and goaltender Tyrone Garner picked up the shutout for the Bandits.
The Bandits got on the board first and made it 1-0 on a goal off the stick of forward Eric Fortier at the 9:16 mark of the first period.
The Bandits then made it 2-0 after Jeff Bes slipped the puck past Florida netminder Randy Petruk at the 19:08 mark of the second period.
Jackson finished the scoring on a shorthanded goal from forward Darryl LaPlante at the 5:02 mark of the third period.
Florida goaltender Randy Petruk (2-1-0) stopped 27 of 30 shots he faced while Jackson netminder Tyrone Garner (13-12-4) stopped all 29 shots he faced and picked up his third shutout of the season. The Everblades were 0 for 3 on the power play while the Bandits were 0 for 1.
The Blades take on the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 8:05 PM in Pensacola on Friday and travel to Baton Rouge to take on the Kingfish at 8:05 PM on Saturday and 5:05 PM on Sunday.
