The Hockey 'n Heels Seminar is an educational forum created specifically for the female audience. It will incorporate six classroom style stations on the finer points of the game. Led by team captain Tom Buckley, as well as a host of other Everblades players serving as tour guides and instructors, the seminar will start with a tour of the Everblades Locker Room. From there, it's off to a session with Everblades Head Coach Gerry Fleming & Asst Coach Terry Lindgren, as they give in-depth discussions on what it takes to put a team together and play strategy. Station three will be lead by NHL Hall of Fame recipient, Don Awry, as takes the through all the rules and regulations of the game, answering the toughest questions along the way. The next stop will take the women to the press box. The "Voice of the Everblades", play - by - play announcer Mark Miller, will educate the ladies on how to call the game and the importance of being able to have the listener follow the game visually when they may be miles away. He will also tell tales of Life on the Road: riding the bus with the players. On the ice, female hockey instructor, Kelly Christiansen will have select women from the TECO Arena Women's Hockey League conduct an on-ice demonstration of play and penalties so they can be recognized at a real game. Next, the women get their chance to score...A carpet runner will be laid across the ice and Everblades players will assist the women through their "graduation ceremony" of shooting pucks into the nets to "score their graduation certificate and T-shirt." The end of the evening concludes with a social mixer hour consisting of appetizers, drinks, Everblades players and great raffle prizes donated by supporting sponsors. Don't miss this!!
