Fresno Falcons News Release
ANCHORAGE â The Fresno Falcons made two roster moves today in advance of their two-game set with the Anchorage Aces tonight and tomorrow night at Sullivan Arena. They have signed forwards Jarret Zukiwsky (pr: zuh-KEW-skee) and Bryan Yackel.
Zukiwsky is a former Ace, who tonight will be suiting up for his fourth WCHL team of the season. He began the year with the Idaho Steelheads where he played two games before moving on to play two more with the San Diego Gulls. His latest stint was with the Aces for whom he played seven games, including one against Fresno during which he recorded an assist.
Yackel will make his professional debut tonight after playing four years at Union College as a teammate of Falcons defenseman Alex Todd. Yackel is employed full-time as an engineer in Anchorage and does not plan to stay with the team beyond these two games against the Aces.
The Falcons begin play tonight in fourth place in the WCHL, eight points behind both the Bakersfield Condors and San Diego Gulls. All of the live play-by-play action tonight and tomorrow night can be heard on 103.1 FM, The Mountain Cat, beginning at 7:50 p.m. PST both evenings with the Mail Boxes, Etc. Pre-game Show. Fresno continues its current 11-game road trip with a three-game set versus the first-place Idaho Steelheads on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
