Dayton Bombers News Release
The Dayton Bombers have announced that they have acquired wingers Patrick Yetman and Lance Galbraith from the Augusta Lynx in exchange for forwards Chris M. Thompson and Andrew Ianiero.
"We feel that we have improved our lineup by adding some elements that have been missing for most of the year," said Bombers' Head Coach/G.M. of Hockey Operations Greg Ireland. "Though we will miss Chris and Andrew, Patrick Yetman is a two-time All-Star with a tremendous set of skills in addition to great playmaking and skating ability, while Lance Galbraith is a gritty force in the mold of Matthew Barnaby (of the NHL's New York Rangers) who can also contribute offensively."
Yetman, who has attended the New York Rangers' training camp, is on a two-way contract with the American Hockey League's Hartford Wolfpack. A product of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Yetman tallied 33 goals and 68 assists (101 points) in 71 games played with the Moncton Wildcats during his final season in the circuit. Yetman became a Southern Conference All-Star during his first full season (2001-2002) as a professional with the Lynx. He scored 25 goals and added 23 assists in 61 games played his rookie campaign. This season, Yetman earned another Southern Conference All-Star nod. He tallied 11 goals (two short-handed) and 14 assists in 39 games played with the Lynx earlier this season.
Galbraith, 23, is in his second season as professional after playing five full campaigns with the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League. Galbraith won the Memorial Cup, Canada's Major Junior Championship, in 1999 with the 67s.. He is Ottawa's all-time leader in games played (297) and penalty minutes (960). This season with the Lynx, Galbraith notched nine goals and 14 assists in 48 games, while amassing a team-high 240 penalty minutes.
