Winston-Salem Dash News Release

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (SEPTEMBER 1, 2010) - Today the White Sox purchased the contract of former Winston-Salem Dash pitcher Gregory Infante from AA Birmingham and assigned him to Chicago. Infante joins Chris Sale as the only 2010 Dash players to reach the big leagues this season.

A hard-throwing right-hander from Caracas, Venezuela, Infante was Winston-Salem's closer before his promotion to the Barons on June 29. In 31 games for the Dash, he went 1-2 with a 3.48 ERA and nine saves in 11 opportunities. He was one of a record seven players to represent Winston-Salem at the 2010 Carolina League-California League All-Star Game in Myrtle Beach earlier this season.

After a slow start with Birmingham, Infante did not allow an earned run over his final 14 appearances for the Barons. During that stretch, he gave up only eight hits in 15.1 innings and a .152 opponents' batting average. Overall, he went 2-2 in the Southern League with a 3.42 ERA and three saves in five opportunities.

Tonight the Dash continues its final home series of the regular season against the Lynchburg Hillcats. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. at BB&T Ballpark.

The Winston-Salem Dash is the Class-A Advanced minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. To purchase tickets and for more information, please call 336-714-2287 or visit www.wsdash.com .
