
Dash Down Cats Again in Game Two

Winston-Salem pounded out a 10-2 win over Lynchburg on Wednesday night at BB&T Ballpark. The Dash have taken the first two games of the four-game set and are now 14-4 against the Hillcats.
The Dash started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning with a two-out RBI double by Seth Loman to take a 1-0 lead. They struck again for another run in the third inning with another two-out RBI double, this time by Jon Gilmore, and it was a 2-0 lead for the Winston-Salem.
In the fourth inning Winston plated two more runs on a two-run home run by Drew Garcia to up their advantage to 4-0. An inning later the Dash really opened things up with a five-run bottom of the fifth. Nick Cioli doubled in a run, Jason Bour cleared the bases with a three-run double and Greg Paiml singled in a run in the frame. All five runs in the inning and all nine runs the Dash scored came with two-outs.
Lynchburg finally got on the board in the top of the sixth inning with a pair of two-out runs of their own. Brand new Hillcat Henry Rodriguez and Brodie Greene both singled in a run to make it a 9-2 game. Winston-Salem hit double digits in the bottom of the eighth inning with an RBI ground out by Gilmore.
The loss went to starter Curtis Partch (6-11) for Lynchburg (30-33, 59-74) and the win went to starter Dylan Axelrod for Winston-Salem (34-28, 77-55). The four-game series continues on Thursday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. at BB&T Ballpark. Right-hander Daniel Guerrero (2-1, 3.34) will get the start for the Hillcats opposite lefty Joe Serafin (2-4, 6.70) for the Dash.
