
Greenwald to Serve as Radio Broadcaster for Triple-A All-Star Game

FRESNO, Calif. - Doug Greenwald, play-by-play voice of the Fresno Grizzlies, will serve as the Pacific Coast League broadcaster for the 2012 Triple-A All-Star Game, Triple-A Baseball announced. Greenwald will join Ben Wagner of the Buffalo Bisons in calling the action for the Wednesday, July 11th game held at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, New York. The Triple-A All-Star Game, in its 25th annual edition this year, will feature All-Stars from the Pacific Coast League taking on their counterparts from the International League.
Greenwald, 37, is in his 10th season as the lead play-by-play announcer for the Fresno Grizzlies. In addition to calling the action on the radio for the Grizzlies, Greenwald has served as the play-by-play broadcaster for the Grizzlies' games aired on the Comcast Hometown Network over the last two seasons. He also has spent the last seven Spring Trainings working as the play-by-play broadcaster for the San Francisco Giants' game webcasts on www.SFGiants.com. He even filled in on selected Giants regular season games on KNBR in 2009 and 2010.
The 2012 season also marks Greenwald's 17th year overall in professional baseball broadcasting. In addition to his duties with the Grizzlies, Greenwald has also served in the same capacity during his career with the Modesto Athletics (2002), Shreveport Captains (2000-01), Stockton Ports (1999), Lafayette Bayou Bullfrogs (1998), Burlington Bees (1997), and Bend Bandits(1996).
The native of Sydney, Australia but raised San Franciscan graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University in 1996.
The rosters for the IL and PCL All-Star teams will be announced on June 27 and 28, respectively.
