Lexington Legends News Release

Greensboro rallied for a 4-2 win over Lexington on Monday night. The Grasshoppers rallied for four runs in the eighth inning to escape with the two run win. The loss wasted a brilliant performance by Chad Reineke. The right-hander struck out a career high ten batters in six innings.

Edwin Maysonet ended a 0-20 streak with a first inning home run to left field giving the Legends a 1-0 lead. Frankie Caraballo took Jeff Allison deep in the fifth inning with a solo homer.

Allison picked up his third win of the year. Allison (3-4) struck out eight batters while allowing two runs on three hits.

The Grasshoppers erased the Legends advantage in the eighth inning. Jared Gaston doubled in Andy Jenkins. Jai Miller scored on J.T. Resko's sacrifice fly. Steve Gendron doubled in two more.

Garrett Murdy relieved Reineke and allowed two runs in 1.1 innings. Ryan Thompson (3-7) suffered his second blown save in a week after coughing up two runs.

Caraballo's home run was his 23rd on the year, two off of the club record held by Beau Hearod and Hunter Pence. Maysonet snapped his skid emphatically with four hits, a triple shy of the cycle.

Lexington improved to 69-50 on the season and to 27-22 in the second half.

Greensboro will challenge Lexington again on Tuesday night. Jimmy Barthmaier will face newcomer Jacob Marcaeux. The first pitch is set for 7:05. The Progressive Direct pre-game show will start at 6:50 on the Legends radio network.
