Rome, GA - Matt Harrison has earned the BC Powder South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week honors by compiling a 1-0 record and a perfect 0.00 ERA in his one start this past week. Harrison pitched 8.0 innings, scattered 4 hits, allowed 0 runs, struck out 4 batters and walked 3 in his August 13th home 8-0 victory over the Greenville Bombers. Matt raised his record to 11-6 on the year with a 3.26 ERA. His 11 victories place him in a tie for 1st in the South Atlantic League. He also has the league lead in innings pitched with 143.2 on the season.
Rome concludes a nine-game home stand this evening against the Greenville Bombers. Atlanta outfielder Brian Jordan is expected to continue his rehab assignment tonight. The team is currently four games behind division leading Kannapolis heading into the final three weeks of the regular season.
