
Braves blank Bisons

Richmond, VA - The Richmond Braves beat the Buffalo Bisons 1-0 Monday at The Diamond. Chuck James pitched eight innings of one-hit ball to lead the Braves to their third win by shutout in less than a week.
The Braves scored the only run of the ballgame in the fifth inning when Steve Pyzik picked up his first Triple-A RBI on a ground out following back-to-back singles. The Bisons only hit came in the third inning on a Javier Cardona single. Buffalo had only one runner past first base. James retired 12 straight Bisons between the fourth and eighth innings. James earned his first Triple-A win. He has allowed only one run in 12.2 innings since coming up from Double-A Mississippi.
Jason Childers worked a perfect ninth to earn a save. Tony Pena and Kerry Robinson each had a hit and a sacrifice. Fausto Carmona took the loss.
