Cody Ehlers Returns to Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Monday that 1B/DH Cody Ehlers has been transferred from High A Tampa to the Charleston RiverDogs active roster and that RiverDogs RHP Elvys Quezada has been promoted to Tampa.

Ehlers returns for his second stint with the RiverDogs after batting .240 with three home runs and 11 RBI in 35 games with Tampa. The 11th-round pick in 2004 was named to the South Atlantic League All-Star team after hitting .287 with eight home runs and 49 RBI in 72 contests with the RiverDogs.

Quezada returns to Tampa after pitching very effectively in Charleston, going 1-1 with a 1.95 ERA in 16 games, one of them a start. The 15th-round pick in 2003 did not allow a run and struck out 18 in his last eight games with Charleston. A native of New York, NY, Quezada went 3-0 with a 6.52 ERA in his first stint with Tampa before joining the RiverDogs on July 2.

The RiverDogs continue an eight-game homestand on Monday at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. It's Dogs with a Cause Night as Crisis Ministries will be at "The Joe" to raise awareness for their cause.
