Eugene Emeralds News Release

EUGENE, OR - It's going to be groovy at PK Park this Friday. Fans are invited to come out to the park as the Eugene Emeralds host Grateful Dead 60's Night on Friday, July 17. The first 1,000 fans through the Home Plate Gate will also receive a Jersey Cooler Bag presented by Pepsi.

This Flashback Friday, presented by Northwest Toyota Dealers, is part of the season long promotion with the Emeralds to honor each decade of the teams existence. Fans will be reminded of the colorful counter-culture movement at the heart of Eugene's history, including music from the Grateful Dead. The Team Store will also have throwback Emeralds jerseys on sale throughout the night.

During the game, Tamarack Aquatic Center will be featured as the Kendall Community Spotlight. The Pool's programs help meet the healthy, wellness, therapeutic, and rehabilitative needs of all community members regardless of age, ability, or income. Classes and open sessions are designed to help address critical pain and mobility issues related to arthritis, fibromyalgia, brain injuries, and pre and post-operative conditions, pre-natal needs and PTSD. They also work to address general health, wellness, and recreation. To find out more about Tamarack Aquatic Center during the game, fans can head over to their table on the concourse.

This year the Eugene Emeralds proudly celebrate their 60th Anniversary. Since 1955, over 300 Emeralds alumni have made it to the Big Leagues. Our rich history includes players like Mike Schmidt, Bob Boone, Tom Gordon, Eric Davis and most recently 2014 AL Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber. For the 2015 season, the Emeralds have made a major affiliation change by signing with the Chicago Cubs. Season tickets, mini plans and group tickets for 2015 can be purchased at www.EmeraldsBaseball.com, by phone 541-342-5367 and in person by visiting the Emeralds Box Office located next to PK Park. Individual game tickets are on sale now.
