AquaSox Fall to Canadians in Series Opener
July 16, 2015 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Everett AquaSox News Release
EVERETT, Wash. - Vancouver scored two late runs overcome Everett's comeback and hand the AquaSox a 5-4 loss on Wednesday, July 15, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Jordan Cowan was 2 for 2 with a double and three walks, and Logan Taylor went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs for the Frogs.
After Vancouver scored three in the first inning to take an early lead, Cowan tried to get the AquaSox back in the game. He doubled to lead off the inning, and scored on a passed ball two batters later to put the Frogs on the board.
Then in the fourth with the bases loaded and two outs, Taylor ripped a hard ground ball down the left field line to score Braden Bishop and Corey Simpson. That play tied the game at 3-all, which would be the score until the eighth inning, when Vancouver added a run. Both teams would score a run in the ninth to end the game 5-4 for the Canadians.
Spencer Herrmann was the hard-luck loser on the mound, allowing just two hits, one run and striking out four in 3 1/3 innings of relief.

It will be Tasty Thursday with $2 12-ounce Coors Light, $2 sodas, $2 hot dogs and $2 small bags of popcorn, and kids can run the bases after the game.
