Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

The Grand Slam Giveaway, the biggest giveaway in Albuquerque Isotopes history, will be held this Sunday, August 17 as three lucky fans will win either a new house courtesy of Raylee Homes/Vantage Homes, a 2008 Chevy Malibu courtesy of Brad Francis Chevrolet, or $10,000 worth of home furnishings courtesy of TEMA Contemporary Furniture.

In between the completion of a suspended game and Sunday's regularly scheduled contest against the Memphis Redbirds, Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, Mike Roberts will host a special ceremony on the field at Isotopes Park where three fans will walk away with one of the three spectacular prizes.

Last weekend, hundreds of entrants were winnowed down by live drawing to a total of 20 finalists who will have a chance at the trio of grand prizes. All of finalists will be brought onto the field during the ceremony and randomly given a key. Each finalist will then try their key in one of three Treasure Chests which contain the furniture prize, the car, and the house. If the key works, the contestant will win the corresponding prize.

The suspended contest, which was halted by rain in Memphis on June 20 with the Isotopes holding a 6-1 lead after three innings, will begin at 4:30 PM on Sunday with the ceremony taking place immediately upon the contest's completion. A seven-inning game between the Isotopes and Redbirds will begin after the three winners have been drawn.

After a quick four-game set in Omaha, the ‘Topes return home this Saturday for the start of a nine-game homestand against the Memphis Redbirds and New Orleans Zephyrs. The fun starts on Saturday with a visit by everyone's favorite fowl, Birdzerk! Tickets can be purchased at Isotopes Park or any Ticketmaster outlet, www.ticketmaster.com, or Ticketmaster by phone 505-883-7800.
