
Sidewinders suspended due to rain

Colorado Springs. CO - The Sidewinders game against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox was suspended in the top of the fourth inning with the Sidewinders leading 5-3. No make up date has been announced at this time.
The Sidewinders scored twice in the first inning on a RBI single by Josh Whitesell and a RBI double by Jesus Merchan. Justin Upton's two run single in the second gave the Sidewinders a 4-0 lead.
Humberto Cota doubled off the wall in right against Evan MacLane in the bottom of the second to make it a 4-1 game but the Sidewinders answered back on MacLane's RBI single in the top of the third to make it 5-1.
Matt Miller and Joe Koshansky had run scoring singles in the third to bring the score to 5-3 before Humberto Cota popped up to end the inning. The skies opened and after approximately 45 minutes the game was suspended.
The Sidewinders and Sky Sox wrap up their four game series on Friday night at Security Service Field. Right-hander Juan Gutierrez (3-10, 6.68) starts for Tucson against left-hander Franklin Morales (8-4, 5.44) for Colorado Springs. First pitch is at 6:05. The game will air live on COOL 1450 beginning at 5:55.
