Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
WINNIPEG - Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today that infielder Wilmer Pino has been traded to the Edinburgh Roadrunners of the North American League for a player to be named later.
Pino, 25, played in six games for the Goldeyes for this season. He hit .238 and played all six games at second base.
Under American Association rules, teams had to submit an active roster of 22 players today at 12 p.m. This move gets the Goldeyes down to a 22-man roster, which includes 12 pitchers and 10 position players.
The Goldeyes and St. Paul Saints conclude their three game series today at Midway Stadium in St. Paul. Winnipeg thumped St. Paul 11-4 last night. Game time is 1:05 p.m. and all the action can be heard on Sports Radio 1290.
Next home action for the Goldeyes is next Friday, May 27 when Winnipeg hosts the Gary SouthShore RailCats for the first of three games.
Great seats for all Goldeyes games are available by calling 1-855-GOLDEYE, clicking on Ticketmaster.ca or visiting any Ticketmaster outlet, including the one inside Shaw Park.
