Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release
GARY, Ind. - The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced today the release of catcher Johnny Bowden.
Bowden, 26, had seen action in four games as the backup catcher this season, posting one hit in nine at bats for a .111 average to go with an RBI. The right-handed hitter previously played within the Colorado Rockies system, reaching Triple-A last season.
The move gives the RailCats a 22-man roster, coinciding with the switch from 23 to 22 players for the American Association today. The RailCats host the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks this afternoon at 2:10 p.m. in the final game of a three-game series.
