CLEBURNE, TX - The Winnipeg Goldeyes lost 6-4 to the Cleburne Railroaders at The Depot at Cleburne Station on Saturday night.

The Railroaders scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to erase a 3-0 Goldeyes' lead. KC Huth doubled down the left field line leading off and scored Cleburne's first run when Angelo Gumbs singled through the right side. Levi Scott followed with a single to right-centre that chased Gumbs to third. After Scott was caught stealing at second, Patrick Palmeiro lifted a two-run home run to left-centre that tied the game. Two batters later, Cameron Monger legged out a double to left-centre and advanced to third when Blake Grant-Parks reached on an infield single. Trevor Sealey then singled to centre to give the Railroaders the lead at 4-3.

Huth led off the bottom of the fifth with a single through the left side, took second on a wild pitch, and scored Cleburne's fifth run on a line drive single to right from Scott.

In the top of the sixth, walks to David Bergin and Josh Mazzola set up a two-out, RBI double down the left field line by Kevin Garcia that cut Cleburne's lead to 5-4.

The Railroaders manufactured an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth when Alex Polston drove in Monger with a sacrifice fly to right.

Shawn Blackwell pitched scoreless baseball over the eighth and ninth innings to convert the six-out save.

Mazzola clubbed a solo home run to left with one out in the top of the third to open the scoring. Garcia was next and reached on an error by Polston at shortstop. After Andrew Sohn walked, Victor Cruzado lined a single to left that scored Garcia to make it 2-0 Winnipeg.

Jose Sermo doubled to left-centre with one out in the fourth and scored the Goldeyes' third run on an error by Scott at first base.

Patrick Young (1-0) picked up the win for Cleburne, allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits over five and two-thirds innings. Young walked three and struck out six.

Kevin McGovern started for the Goldeyes and took the loss, allowing four earned runs on nine hits in three and two-thirds. McGovern walked none and struck out five.

Brandon Bingel and Kenny Mathews made their regular season debuts, combining for two shutout relief innings over the sixth and seventh.
