Goldeyes Claim Duran from Kansas City

WINNIPEG - Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today that the team has claimed infielder Jose Duran off waivers from the Kansas City T-Bones.

Duran, 25, hit .302 with a home run and 20 RBI in 49 games with the T-Bones this season.

Last season, Duran split between the Wichita Wingnuts and Kansas City T-Bones, hitting .336 with three home runs and 29 RBI in 59 games.

A product of Fort Worth, Texas, Duran was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the sixth round of the 2008 MLB amateur draft. He played two seasons in the Brewers system, including all of 2009 with Single-A Wisconsin of the Midwest League.

Duran is expected to arrive in Winnipeg tomorrow.

The Goldeyes now have 22 players on their active roster, including 11 pitchers and 11 position players.
