PASCO, Wash. - Reggie Golden highlighted a three-run sixth inning rally with his first professional home run, as the Boise Hawks extended their win streak with a 3-2 victory over the Tri-City Dust Devils, before 1,463 fans at Gesa Stadium.

The win for the Hawks was their fifth in a row, their longest win streak since six straight victories in 2008 (July 13-18).

Tri-City got on the board first in the fifth, as Jeffrey Squier lined a solo homer over the wall in left - the only run allowed by Boise starter Yao-Lin Wang.

The Hawks would respond, as Ben Klafczynski led off the sixth with a walk and an out later, Golden roped the two-run shot to give Boise the lead for good. Willson Contreras followed with a double, scoring on a Kyung-Min Na RBI single, ending an 0-for-18 slump.

The Dust Devils had a chance in the ninth inning, putting runners at second and third with one out, but Bryce Shafer got the second out of the inning at third base on a ground out by Jayson Langfels, then fanned Squier on three pitches to pick up his fourth save.

Wang improved to 2-0 on the season with five and a third innings of work, striking out four, while Contreras went 4-for-4 in the victory.

Squier and Leo Reyes each had two hits for Tri-City, which squandered a solid start from Vianney Mayo, who went four and a third innings of scoreless ball.

Game 2 of the series is tomorrow night, with Jin-Young Kim meeting Ricardo Ferrer at 8:15 p.m. (MT).
