Tri-City Dust Devils News Release

In their first game back at Gesa Stadium in a week, the Tri-City Dust Devils fell to the East Division leading Boise Hawks, 3-2. The Dust Devils scored first, with a fifth-inning solo home run, but failed to drive in any more runs. The Hawks responded with a three run inning in the top of the sixth that would see them to victory.

Tri-City (6-6) starter Vianney Mayo looked great in his third start of the season, going 4 1/3 scoreless innings and lowering his earned run average to a spectacular 1.54. He also struck out four while walking one and allowing four hits on the night. Getting the loss for the Dust Devils was reliever Ching-Lung Lo (2-1). He allowed all three Boise runs on the night, which were also the first three runs he has allowed this season.

Hawks (8-4) starter Yao-Min Wang (2-0) kept his perfect record this season, working 5 1/3 innings and allowing one run on five Dust Devil hits. Keeping the win intact for Wang was a stellar bullpen performance from the Hawks. Relievers Cameron Greathouse, Yilver Sanchez and Bryce Shafer combined to allow one Dust Devil run over the last 3 2/3 innings.

Tallying the first run for Tri-City was shortstop Jeffrey Squier. Squier lined a solo home run to straight away left-field in the fifth inning. He, along with designated hitter Leo Reyes, had two hits on the night to lead the Dust Devils at the plate.

Wednesday night at Gesa Stadium is School Night as well as Weenie Wednesday, meaning all hot dogs are on sale for just one dollar all night!
