The Gwinnett Gladiators collected two wins and a loss last week on the road. The Gladiators still remain tops in the Eastern Conference of the ECHL with 69 points (29-13-7-4) on the season. The Gladiators will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to take on the Cincinnati Cyclones for a pair of games on Monday and Wednesday. This weekend, Gwinnett will head back down South to battle division rival, the South Carolina Sting Rays for a two-game set on Saturday and Sunday night.

Cincinnati Cyclones Preview:

The Gladiators prepare to take on the Cincinnati Cyclones for the first time this year. In the 2010-11 season, Gwinnett only faced the Cyclones twice, going 0-1-0-1 against them. Cincinnati is tied for second in the North Division with 54 points (28-18-1-7) on the season. Forward Mathew Sisca is tops in points with 48 (16 goals, 32 assists) and Mathieu Aubin leads the team with 19 goals for the Cyclones on the season.

South Carolina Stingrays Preview:

This weekend, the Gladiators will head to the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston to face the division rival South Carolina Stingrays (29-22-3-1). In their previous meetings this season, Gwinnett has a posted a 5-3-2-1 record against the Stingrays. The Gladiators shut out South Carolina in their last two tilts. Stingray's leading scorer Pierre-Luc O'Brien has notched seven points (four goals, three assists) against Gwinnett.

Tuesday, February 14: Gwinnett Gladiators, 3, Greenville Road Warriors, 6 - L

The Gwinnett Gladiators gave up four third period goals in a 6-3 loss to the Greenville Road Warriors on Tuesday night at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, SC. Nikita Kashirsky collected an assist in the game to extend his point-scoring streak to 13 consecutive game in the loss. Tyler Murovich and Justin Milo each finished with a goal and an assist in the loss.

Friday, February 17: Gwinnett Gladiators, 4, Chicago Express, 3 - W

The Gwinnett Gladiators defeated the Chicago Express for the third time this season in the 4-3 victory Friday night at the Sears Centre. Forward Tyler Murovich posted a power-play goal and a short-handed goal in the win. Nikita Kashirsky and defenseman Brad Miller each had a goal. Bryan Brutlag collected two assists on the night.

Saturday, February 18: Gwinnett Gladiators, 4, Kalamazoo Wings, 3 - SOW

The Gwinnett Gladiators battled back from a 3-0 deficit in the second period to come back and defeat the Kalamazoo Wings 4-3 in a shoot-out. Tyler Murovich collected his third straight game with at least a point as he collected a goal in an assist in the win for the Gladiators. Newcomer Shawn Szydlowski and defenseman Tyler Kindle each posted a goal for Gwinnett.

News & Notes:

A Streaker! Forward Nikita Kashirsky ties the league for longest point-scoring streak at 15 games after collecting three points (one goal, two assists) last week against Greenville and Chicago. Kashirsky has recorded 15 points (six goals, 11 assists) in his current streak. Eric Lampe of the Las Vegas Wranglers is the other skater who has collected 15 consecutive point-scoring games in the ECHL.

Shoot Outs: The Gladiators are currently ranked third in the ECHL Eastern Conference in the shoot out. Gwinnett has participated in 10 shoot out games in the 2011-12 season. On the shoot out, the team is a .600, collecting six shootout victories. In their most recent shoot-out victory over the Kalamazoo Wings, forward Pat Galivan lifted the Gladiators to a win with the game-winner in the shoot out.

On the Power Play: In their last ten games, the Gladiators have posted 10 man-advantage goals. With this improvement, Gwinnett is ranked 16th in the ECHL on the power play. The Gladiators are 16.4 percent on the conversion. In the 4-3 win over the Chicago Express, the Gladiators went two-for-five on the power play.

Stepping it Up : Forward Tyler Murovich has stepped up his game, collecting six points (four goals, two assists) in his last three games. In the 4-3 win over the Chicago Express, Murovich posted his first multiple goal-scoring game this season with pair of goals in the victory. The Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania native has posted 35 points (12 goals, 23 assists) on the season.

Glads Make Moves : In the last week, the Gladiators have undergone several transactions. Forwards Shawn Szydlowski, Riley Boychuck and Jonathan Parker were assigned to Gwinnett from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. Forward Joey Haddad returns to the AHL to the Hamilton Bulldogs and defenseman Dallas Jackson makes his first trip of his professional career to the AHL to join the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The Gladiators traded forward Ryley Gratham to the Chicago Express in exchange for defenseman Josh Burrows and added defenseman Stephen Mallaro to the Gladiators roster.

Upcoming Events:

Pink in the Rink Weekend (March 2-4) - Join the Gladiators for their annual cancer fundraising weekend. The ice at the Arena at Gwinnett Center will be died pink and there will be various fundraising opportunities around the arena (PINK Gladiator Merchandise, various raffles and a silent auction.

Friday, March 2 : Pink the Rink Weekend and Friendly Friday - Adults can purchase a corner level ticket in Section 115 plus a hotdog and beverage for only $20. Kids can get a corner level ticket in Sections 115 and a kids meal for only $15.

Saturday, March 3 : Pink in the Rink Weekend and Girls Gone Gladiators - This is great night for a "Girls Night Out" where all women can interact with 20+ vendors with business.

Sunday, March 4: Pink the Rink Weekend and Kroger Family Sunday - It will be the Gladiators fifth Kroger Family Sunday of the 2011-12 season. Fans can purchase four Premium/Corner Level tickets, Kroger Family Meal Deal and $5 merchandise coupon for only $50.
