
Gladiators Acquire Looby from Dayton

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have acquired defenseman Mike Looby from the Dayton Bombers in exchange for future considerations.
Looby has appeared in 40 games this season with Dayton posting 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points. He has also collected 39 penalty minutes and is even with the Bombers this season.
The Brampton, Ontario native played two full seasons in the Central Hockey League before joining the Bombers this season. He split time last season between the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and the Tulsa Oilers finishing the year with 4 goals and 23 assists for 27 points in 62 games.
Looby skated in 62 games during his rookie season in 2006-07 in the CHL splitting time with the Arizona sundogs and the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. He finished the season with 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points.
Following his final junior season with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League, Looby helped the Laredo Bucks capture the President's Cup Championship in the CHL in 2006. He played in 12 post season games for Laredo posting a goal and two assists for 3 points.
Looby should be available for the Gladiators when theT travel to Florida to take on the Everblades on Friday, January 23rd at 7:30 p.m.

Began in 1988-89 with five teams playing in four states, the Premier 'AA' Hockey League has grown into a coast-to-coast league that will have 21 teams in 16 states and British Columbia playing 864 games from Oct. 17, 2008 to Apr. 4, 2009. Eighteen of the 23 teams have played at least five years in their current city.
The third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League, the ECHL averaged 4,174 per game last season, marking the fourth year in row and the 16th time in the last 18 years that the league has averaged over 4,000 fans. The league has drawn over four million fans each of the last five years and 11 times in the past 12 seasons.
