
Gionet Acquired from Reading for Future Considerations

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots, under the new ownership group of Hockey Enterprises of Pensacola L.L.C with the sole owner Tim Kerr, announced that the Ice Pilots have acquired defenseman Aaron Gionet (Gee-O-Net) from the Reading Royals for future considerations.
Gionet, who stands 6'2" and weighs 204 pounds, played in eight games with Reading this season picking up thirteen penalty minutes. He played in 67 games last year for Kamloops in the Western Hockey League scoring 1 goal, 12 assists for 13 points and picked up 185 penalty minutes.
Gionet played for Kamloops from 1998-2003 playing in 324 games scoring 12 goals, 35 assists for 47 points and picked up 933 penalty minutes. He is 21 years old from Qualicum Beach, Brithish Columbia and shoots right. Gionet was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 6th round and was the 191st player overall taken in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
The Ice Pilots will play on the road this Friday night at Columbus at 6:30 p.m. central time and will play at Texas on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.
The Ice Pilots will return to "The Hangar" during Thanksgiving week. It starts Tuesday night, November 25th vs. Mississippi at 7:05 p.m. with "Nextel's Can For A Cause Holiday Food Drive." Fans who bring three nonperishable food items to the game will receive $3 off a ticket and will receive a Nextel, Manna Food Drive and Ice Pilots Rally Towel. Also, a "Ladies Turkey Shoot" will take place at the game sponsored by Albertson's.
The Ice Pilots will be home on Friday, November 28th which is the day after Thanksgiving vs. Louisiana at 7:05 p.m. It is Hooter's Restaurant Night. Prizes will be given away and the Hooter's girls will have a broom ball game during the intermission.
"Kids Day" Caps Off Thanksgiving Weekend
The Ice Pilots will wrap up Thanksgiving weekend at home on Sunday, November 30th vs. Mississippi at 5:05 p.m. It will be the first "Kid's Day" of the season. Fans will be able to purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas for $44 by calling the Ice Pilots office at 432-PUCK. The first 1,000 children will receive a megaphone courtesy of the Ice Pilots and Pensacola Pelicans baseball team.
There will be face-painting, clowns, area mascots, balloon artists, moon bounce and fast pitch inflatable at the game. A post game skate with the Ice Pilots players will take place. Cost is $6 admission with skate rental and $4 admission with your own skates. Children from the crowd will be picked to join in the on-ice intermission activities.
