BEAUMONT, TX (November 17, 2003) – Tuesday November 11th, the Fresno Falcons held off a fierce third-period attack by the Wildcatters to win 6-4 on the road. John Snowden and Keith Cassidy struck first for the Wildcatters, but the Falcons had a three-goal lead heading into the Third. Bobby Cunningham and Tony Lawrence rallied to cut the lead to one, but Texas could not get the equalizer past Fresno net minder Terry Friesen, who finished the game with 34 saves on 38 shots. On Thursday, the Wildcatters hit the road to face the Ice Pilots for the third time this year. Pensacola opened up the scoring, but Snowden tied the game at one as time expired on a power play in the first. Cunningham tallied the lone assist on the play. Tim Branham gave Texas the lead in the second, but the Ice Pilots rallied to take it back, making it a 4-2 game going into the third. Pensacola closed out its scoring on a five-on-three advantage. Cunningham scored his tenth goal of the year, it would not be enough as the Wildcatters lost 5-3 on the road. The Texas Wildcatters made their first visit to the Cajun Dome in Lafayette on Saturday to face the IceGators for the second time. Snowden gave Texas the early lead, scoring an unassisted goal half way through the first. Branham increased the lead to two with 1:28 left to play in the first period. Cunningham and Ashlee Langdone assisted on the goal, extending Cunningham's point streak to 10 games. Snowden would strike again in the second period, giving the Wildcatters their first three-goal lead of the season. Cunningham and Cory Morgan each tallied an assist on the goal. The IceGators Ben Storey cut the Texas lead to two on a power play opportunity half way through the 2nd. Louisiana struck again in the third making it a 3-2 game as Armands Berzins scored his first goal of the season. The Wildcatters added an insurance goal when Lawrence netted his fourth goal of the season tipping in a shot from the left point by newcomer Clint Cabana. It ended up being the game-winning goal as Konstantin Kalmikov pulled the IceGators within one late in the third. Davis Parley was solid in the crease, stopping 46 shots, including 22 in the second period to earn a 4-3 win over Louisiana.

Player of the Week Nomination: Rookie Forward John Snowden was nominated for Player of the Week for his performance the week ending November 16th. Snowden had six points including four goals and two assists making him +7 in the three games. Goalie of the Week Nomination: Goalie Davis Parley picked up his third victory of the season 4-3 over bayou rivals the Louisiana IceGators. The net minder was solid in goal, stopping 46 of the 49 shots by the IceGators.

Roster Changes: The Wildcatters signed defenseman Clint Cabana on November 15th. The 25-year-old stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 205 pounds. In his first game against Louisiana, he assisted on the game-winning goal and finished plus two. Although he is a new face in the locker room, he played with Ashlee Langdone in San Diego and with Justin Cardwell in Fort Worth. As per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Left Wing Dan Reja was waived from the Wildcatters roster on Friday, November 14th.

‘Catter Consistency: Leading point scorer Bobby Cunningham extends his point-scoring streak to ten consecutive games (10-9-19). John Snowden has a three-game goal-scoring streak. He scored the first goal in the last three Wildcatter games. Tim Branham has a four-game point-scoring streak (3-3-6) including a goal in each of the last two games.

Division Collision: Last week the Wildcatters played two of seventeen straight games against Central Division opponents. Texas will not play outside of their division until December 21st when they take on the Greenville Grrrowl at Ford Arena. This seventeen game stretch gives the Wildcatters an opportunity to move-up in the Central Division standings.
