Chris Houle Named ITECH HOCKEY Saver of the Week

TRENTON, NJ - The ECHL has announced that Trenton Titan rookie goaltender Chris Hould has been named ITECH HOckEY Saver of the Week for November 3-9.

Houle, a native of Caslan, AB, went 3-0-0 with a shutout, a 0.67 goals against average and a .973 save percentage to lead help left the Titans into a three-way tie for third place in the Northern Division with Wheeling and Reading.

"We knew at the beginning of the year that he would be solid between the pipes," said head coach Bill Armstrong. "It's great for Chris and the team that he was able to step right in and have some success."

Houle got his first professional start on Wednesday against Toledo and made 19 of 20 saves in a 3-1 victory for the Titans. On Saturday, Houle went up Toledo once again and turned away all 34 shots he faced for a 2-0 win and his first professional shutout. Houle started his third consecutive game on Sunday against the league-leading Las Vegas Wranglers and stopped 19 of 20 shots to get the 2-1 win and finish out the week 3-0-0.

Houle earned Second-Team All-Rookie honors in the Ontario Hockey League in 2002-03 after going 22-14-3 with two shutouts, 2.58 goals against average and a .917 save percentage while helping the London Knight reach the OHL Western Conference Semifinals. The Trenton Titans are a member of the ECHL - America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Trenton Titans play at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ.

The Trenton Titans start a home and home series against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies at Sovereign Bank Arena on Friday, November 2. Game time is 7:00pm.
