SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers were shutout for the second straight game, falling to the Springfield Falcons 4-0 on Friday night at the MassMutual Center.

Louis Domingue made 33 saves for his first shutout of the season in his first contest against the Sound Tigers.

The Falcons controlled the play in the first period, scoring just 20 seconds into the first power play of the game. With Connor Jones in the box sitting for interference, a scramble in front of the net led to the puck hopping back to the point for Derek Smith. He sent a shot on net that was deflected in by Greg Carey for his eighth goal of the season just 3:49 in to give Springfield a 1-0 lead.

The Sound Tigers had a pair of power plays in the first but failed to score on both. Sandwiched in between the man advantages, the Falcons got their second goal of the game. This time, Laurent Dauphin poked in a rebound to give Springfield a 2-0 lead. Carey assisted Dauphin's fifth of the season as did Falcons captain Craig Cunningham.

Despite a 14-10 shot advantage and two more power plays, the Sound Tigers could not break through in the second period. Instead, it was the Falcons getting their third goal of the game. Dauphin pulled up in front of the Sound Tigers net and waited for help before throwing a shot on net that hit Philip Samuelsson and went past Christopher Gibson to make it 3-0.

Dauphin had a chance for his second of the game in the second period as he was hooked on a breakaway and awarded a penalty shot. However, Gibson was able to make the stop, flashing the right pad to keep the deficit at three goals.

Bridgeport sent nine shots on Domingue in the third but he stopped them all, as the Falcons led the final shot count 36-33. Samuelsson added an empty netter on the power play to conclude the scoring. Springfield's power play went 2-for-4 while Bridgeport went 0-for-4.

The Sound Tigers continue their weekend when they host the Portland Pirates tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. for Star Wars night. Doors open an hour before game time with characters walking the concourse.
