Germyn Recalled By Calgary; Knights Summon Tudin

Omaha, NE - The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights announced today that the Calgary Flames, their National Hockey League affiliate, have recalled right wing Carsen Germyn. It is his first National Hockey League recall. Germyn will join the Flames in Edmonton tonight for their game against the Oilers at 9:00 p.m. CT. The Knights also announced today that they have recalled left wing Dan Tudin from the Las Vegas Wranglers, their affiliate in the ECHL, and signed him to a pro try-out under emergency conditions. He will join the Knights in time for their game against the Milwaukee Admirals tonight at 7:00 p.m.

Germyn is tied for second in team scoring with 22 goals and 26 assists for 48 points. He also has 117 penalty minutes. He has a team-leading 22 goals and five game-winning goals, and is third on the team with ten powerplay goals. He registered the Knights' only hat trick of the season back on October 28th against Chicago. In that game, he scored a team season high three powerplay goals.

Germyn is now in his third pro season. Last year, he scored nine goals and 20 points in 60 games with the Lowell Lock Monsters (AHL). As a rookie, the native of Campbell River, British Columbia had eleven goals and 27 points for the Norfolk Admirals (AHL). Germyn was signed as a free agent by Calgary on July 6, 2004.

Tudin is in his third professional season. He leads the Wranglers in scoring with 33 goals and 44 assists for 77 points in 65 games played. He also leads team with +38 rating and has earned a team high seven shorthanded goals.

Last year, Tudin had 21goals and 42 points to finish fifth in scoring for Las Vegas. His 21 goals ranked third best on the team. Prior to turning pro with Columbus (ECHL) in 2003-04, the native of Ottawa, Ontario spent four seasons at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he earned 38 goals and 74 assists for 82 points in 106 college games. Before that, he played four seasons for the Ottawa 67's where he earned 140 points in 239 career OHL games.

The Knights complete a four-game home stand with their game tonight against Milwaukee. All kids 18 and under who wear their team's sports jersey to the game will receive free admission with the purchase of a paid ticket.
