Georgia Satelittes to Play at Silver Cross Field on August 16
July 29, 2014 - Frontier League (FL)
Joliet Slammers News Release
Joliet, IL - The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy announce today that the Georgia Satellites will perform as the headline act at Silver Cross Field on Saturday, August 16 with local favorite, The Righteous Hillbillies, opening for the rock 'n' roll legends.
The Georgia Satellites were booked to replace Dickey Betts who is unable to perform due to a medical condition. Fans that had tickets to the Betts show will have the option of exchanging their tickets for the new show or receiving a refund. Gates for the August 16 show will open at 6:00 PM with the Righteous Hillbillies beginning at 8:00 PM and the Georgia Satellites to follow at approximately 9:30 PM.
The Georgia Satellites were one of the most ferocious bands of the 1980's. What set them apart from the other 10,000 groups that cranked their amps to 11, was that their wild riffs and tanked cries came from a quartet that understood its place in rock tradition and fought hard to solidify it with each recording. Founded in 1985 by Rick Richards, Rick Price, singer Dan Baird and drummer Mauro Magellan, the Satellites quickly launched into stardom with hits like Keep Your Hands to Yourself, Battleship Chains, Hippy Hippy Shake and others. Critically acclaimed albums and mind-bending performances earned the boys a permanent spot in music history, and now a spot at Silver Cross Field.
Given the short notice, the Slammers have decided to offer great ticket prices for what is sure to be a terrific show. Pricing for the August 16 Georgia Satellites concert featuring the Righteous Hillbillies is as follows:
$40.00
Platinum VIP - first row of seats, includes a "Meet and Greet" with the band $25.00
On Field Reserved Seating $15.00
GA Standing Room On Field $10.00
Stadium Fixed Seat
We also will open our famous "Beer Garden" for our own in-stadium tailgate - The Beer Garden will open at 6 PM and fans 21 and over can get unlimited food and five beer selections from the over 60 beers in stock for a $28.00 up charge over the ticket prices above.
The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy play at Silver Cross Field in downtown Joliet, Illinois, and are members of the professional, independent Frontier League. The Frontier League is a 14-team league entering its 22nd season of play in 2014.
