
Gavin McKenna Breaks Canada Winter Games Record

Charlottetown, PEI - Medicine Hat Tigers prospect and number one overall pick in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft Gavin McKenna has made history at the Canada Winter Games.
Representing his home of the Yukon Territory, McKenna (Whitehorse, YT), he guided the Yukon to a 3-3 record at the CWG thanks in part to 27 points through the tournament (14 goals, 15 assists) breaking the previous record held by Francois Methot & Kelsey Tessier.
McKenna has made his mark in his affiliate season with the Tigers suiting up in 11 games scoring 8 points (8 assists) including four primary assists in the Tigers Season Opener September 24th against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
McKenna turned 15 on December 20, 2022.
McKenna will make his next appearance in the Tigers line-up Saturday, March 11th when the Tigers host the Regina Pats.

Also in action in the Martimes is a handful of Tiger Prospects representing Team Alberta as Kadon McCann (Cochrane, AB), Hayden Harsanyi (Calgary, AB) Matt Paranych (Edmonton, AB) Jack Kachkowski (St. Albert, AB) & Jordan Switzer (Edmonton, AB) are still in action at the games playing Team Manitoba in the 5/6th place game Friday afternoon.
Tigers Director of Player Personnel Bobby Fox is also representing his home province as part of Team Alberta's Head Scout.
