The Kelowna Rockets extended their win streak to a season-high four games with a 4-0 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Friday night at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alta.
Talyn Boyko stopped all 27 shots he faced to pick up his third shutout of the season, while Dylan Wightman posted his second career multi-goal game.
GAME SUMMARY
Logan Cunningham misplayed the puck behind the net right to Max Graham, who then set up Dylan Wightman (8) out front just before the midway point of the first period. Defenceman Ismail Abougouche left the game with an upper-body injury after a fight in the final minute of the period.
Carson Golder (24), who received his 2022 WHL Championship ring prior to the game, put the Rockets up by two early in the second period with a power play goal from the slot. Wightman (9) found the back of the net for the second time, firing a shot through a screen in front.
The Rockets added another power play goal in the third period, Elias Carmichael led the fly by but Trae Johnson (4) was credited with the goal.
