Garnett goes to Gwinnett

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned Chicago Wolves goaltender Michael Garnett to the Gwinnett Gladiators of the East Coast Hockey League.

Garnett, who has not played in the first four regular-season games with Chicago, finished with a 1-0-0-0 mark and a 1.71 goals-against average in two preseason appearances with the Wolves, including a 36-save performance in a 3-1 win against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Oct. 2.

The 20-year-old netminder appeared in two regular-season games with Chicago last year, posting a 3.64 goals-against average with a 0-1-0-0 record.

He recorded a 16-15-3 mark in 38 regular-season contests with the Greenville Grrrowl, posting a 3.41 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage. Garnett finished with a 1-2 mark and a 4.38 goals-against average in three playoff games with the Grrrowl.
