Indianapolis Indians News Release

TOLEDO, OHIO -- Willy Garcia singled, homered and drove in a career high-tying five runs to lead the Indianapolis Indians to a 6-5 win and two-game split with the Toledo Mud Hens Sunday night at Fifth Third Field.

The Indians maintained their one-game lead in the International League West division with the victory, and tomorrow begin a four-game, home-and-home series against the second-place Columbus Clippers.

Garcia originally tied the game in the fourth inning when he took Detroit Tigers rehabbing left-hander Kyle Lobstein deep on a three-run shot. The homer was his 10th in 41 games since the All-Star break.

Four frames later, with the Tribe trailing 5-4 in the eighth, Garcia capped his night with a two-run single up the middle that scored Tony Sanchez and Josh Bell on what proved to be the game-winning hit.

A.J. Morris tossed four scoreless innings in relief and closer Blake Wood worked a shutout ninth to complete the victory and nail down his IL-best 28th save.
