Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

Three Lehigh Valley pitchers combined to toss a two-hitter as the IronPigs (61-75) defeated the Syracuse Chiefs (61-75) by a score of 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at NBT Bank Stadium.

IronPigs starter Sean O'Sullivan (4-2) allowed one run on one hit while walking five and fanning eight in six innings of work. RHP Colton Murray (2.0 IP, BB, 3 K) and RHP Dustin McGowan (1.0 IP, H, K) fired the final three innings in relief for manager Dave Brundage's squad.

With a scoreless ninth, McGowan notched his 14th save of the season.

The Pigs took an early 1-0 lead in the first as Chase d'Arnaud (1-3, 2B, SB, R) led off with a double, took third on a groundout and scored on Tyler Henson's (1-4, 2B, RBI) sac fly.

In the top of the fourth, Bogusevic drew a leadoff walk issued by Chiefs starter A.J. Cole, moved to third on a double and scored on Tommy Joseph's RBI single.

Cole (5-6) gave up the two runs on six hits to go along with two walks and five strikeouts in 6.2 IP.

Syracuse cut the lead to 2-1 with a run in the sixth as Darin Mastroianni drew a leadoff walk, stole second and third and scored on a wild pitch charged to O'Sullivan.

Russ Canzler's pinch-hit solo home run in the top of the ninth provided an insurance run and gave the Pigs a 3-1 lead. It was Canzler's eighth round-tripper of the season.

The series wraps up on Monday at 7:05 p.m. as LHP Anthony Vasquez (7-7, 4.12) will be on the bump for the Pigs against Syracuse RHP Taylor Hill (3-10, 5.18).
