
Bats Fall to Clippers, 7-6 in 11 Innings

COLUMBUS, Oh. - The Louisville Bats (63-73) dropped their third straight game, and the final of two games at Huntington Park, falling to the Columbus Clippers (78-58), 7-6, Sunday night in 11 innings.
The Clippers got an early 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first after Audy Ciriaco hit a 3-run homer for Columbus.
The Bats were able to get a run in the second after Juan Silva hit a double and was brought in by a double from Chris Dominguez. Louisville got their second run in the fourth after a RBI single from Kyle Waldrop.
Trailing 5-2 in the eighth, the Bats were able to get two after Ramon Cabrera and Silva both singled before a 2 RBI double by Dominguez to make it a one run ballgame.
The Bats then picked up two more runs in the ninth after Kristopher Negron hit a single and Hernan Iribarren walked. They moved up off of a wild pitch and then both scored off of a Cabrera single.
Columbus would get a run in the ninth to tie it back up after Michael Choice hit a two out RBI single. The Clippers would then get the win in the bottom of the 11th after Adam Moore hit a single to right field which scored Jesus Aguilar.
Brandon Finnegan (0-3, 5.88) started the game for Louisville and picked up a no decision. Finnegan threw four innings and gave up five hits, four earned runs and four walks while striking out five. Jose De La Torre (L, 6-5, 3.09) suffered the loss for the Bats.
Michael Roth (W, 9-9,4.92) earned the win for Columbus.
Louisville will travel to Toledo for a four-game series. Expected to pitch for Louisville will be Joel Bender (1-0, 1.93). For Toledo, Luis Cessa (1-2, 7.00) will be on the mound.
