Today's Game
This afternoon, the Bisons host the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the second game of a three-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Herd is and even 34-34 at home this season with four games left to be played in downtown Buffalo. The Bisons host the Syracuse Chiefs for two games starting Tuesday.
vs. the RailRiders
The Bisons are 8-5 against the RailRiders this season and have won eight of the last 10 games between the club. A win today would give Buffalo the season series victory for the second consecutive year. The teams will play a two at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, September 3-4.
Chad Jenkins
RHP CHAD JENKINS ranks 3rd on the Bisons with eight wins and 5th with 83.0 innings of work. The righty will be making his 10th start and 40th appearances for the Herd. Jenkins lost his last time out, allowing eight runs in 3.1 innings in Lehigh Valley last Tuesday. On the season, he has a 1.23 ERA in three games (7.1 IP) against the RailRiders.

INF MATT HAGUE has hit in nine straight games for the Bisons, averaging .378 (14-37) since August 14. After his home run and two RBI last night, Buffalo is now 36-15 in games Hague drives in runs and 17-5 when he knocks in more than one. Hague leads the IL in average (.346), hits (169), RBI (88), on-base pct. (.424) and slugging pct. (484).
Second Half Stars
The Bisons have four players in the top 12 in the IL in average since the All-Star Break. OF DALTON POMPEY and INF MATT HAGUE are tied for 2nd at .344 with Pompey's .432 on-base pct. leading the circuit. OF ALEX HASSAN is 9th since the break with a .324 average while INF ANDY BURNS is 12th with a .312 average since mid-July.
Curious Case of Close Games
The Bisons have the league's worst record in one-run games at 19-32 (.373) including seven 1-0 defeats. However, the Herd is 2nd in the IL in two-run games at 19-9 (.679), including five 2-0 victories.
Bisons Bits
INF RYAN SCHIMPF led the Eastern League with 20 home runs prior to his promotion yesterday... RHP RYAN TEPERA has logged seven straight scoreless outings, with five hits allowed and 11 strikeouts.
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (73-56) blew out the Tigers Saturday, 15-1, at Rogers Centre. Edwin Encarnacion had three home runs and nine RBI for Toronto. Josh Donaldson also had three hits and two RBI and has now driven in 104 runs this year. Toronto hosts Detroit today at 1:07 p.m.
