
Game-Winning Harris Bunt Single Wins It for BlueClaws

GREENSBORO, NC - Ranfi Casimiro gave up one run over six innings and Lakewood took the lead on a bunt single by Chase Harris in the top of the seventh before holding off Greensboro to top the Hoppers 2-1 on Tuesday night at NewBrdige Bank Park.
Greensboro loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Matt Hockenberry got Justin Twine to fly out to centerfield to end the game and give the BlueClaws their third straight win. It was Hockenberry's 12th save of the year and second on the three-game win streak.
Lakewood took the lead on Harris' bunt RBI single off Greensboro starter Jorgan Cavanerio in the seventh. The single scored Jiandido Tromp who had doubled with one out. Cavanerio (3-5), who took the loss, gave up two runs over seven innings.
Casimiro improved to 7-6 and lowered his ERA to 3.10 on the season.
Damek Tomscha's RBI double in the fourth inning opened the scoring and then Justin Twine's fourth home run of the year tied the game in the fifth, setting the stage for the bunt single by Harris in the seventh.
The BlueClaws bullpen threw three scoreless innings, with Manaure Martinez throwing the seventh, Scott Harris the eighth, and Matt Hockenberry the ninth for the BlueClaws in victory.
Scott Kingery had two hits for the BlueClaws while Herlis Rodriguez had his league leading 16th outfield assist.
The series with Greensboro concludes on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 pm. LHP Austin Davis (2-4) starts for Lakewood against RHP Enderson Franco (1-2).
