The Solar Bears are set to play their first-ever ECHL game tonight, but will face a difficult challenge as they take on the defending Kelly Cup Champions. The two sides matched up for a pair of preseason games last weekend, resulting in two victories for the Everblades. However, the Solar Bears have welcomed many new players over the past week, as there are currently 14 players on the roster who did not appear in either preseason game.

Solar Bears Notes:

Tonight's game marks the first-ever ECHL game played by the Orlando Solar Bears... This is the first of four-straight regular season games the two sides will play against each other... The Solar Bears power play was sharp in their preseason opener at Florida, scoring on two of their first four chances... Corbin Baldwin, Josh Caron, and Ian Watters are expected to make their professional debuts tonight.

The Orlando Solar Bears, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and AHL's Houston Aeros, are coming Out of Hibernation and will play 36 regular season home games at the 2012 Street and Smith's Sports Business Journal Sports Facility of the Year, the Amway Center, beginning October 20, 2012.
