Game Preview: New England Revolution vs. Real Salt Lake

September 20, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (10-10-10, 40 pts.) will host Real Salt Lake (14-12-4, 46 pts.) on #KickChildhoodCancer night, presented by MassGeneral Hospital for Children, at Gillette Stadium this Saturday, Sept. 21. The contest kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET, televised locally on NBC Sports Boston with Brad Feldman, Paul Mariner, and Naoko Funayama calling the action. Authenticated subscribers may also stream the match on NBCSportsBoston.com and on the NBC Sports Boston mobile app. The match airs on the radio locally with 98.5 The Sports Hub broadcasting the action in English, and 1260 AM Nossa Radio providing Portuguese commentary, and nationally on SiriusXM FC Channel 157.

With four games remaining in the regular season, the Revolution enter Saturday's match in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, three points clear of both Montreal and Chicago with one game in hand on both clubs. New England won each of the last two home meetings with RSL by a 4-0 scoreline, and will look to continue its incredible stretch of form with points in 16 of the last 18 league matches (8-2-8). Newcomer of the Year candidate Carles Gil will aim to build on his two-assist performance last weekend at Orlando, raising his season total to 14 helpers, fourth most in MLS. Forward Gustavo Bou remains one of the league's hottest scorers with seven goals in 10 games, including the club's third in Orlando.

This Saturday, the Revolution will also support Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with the club's official #KickChildhoodCancer match, presented by MassGeneral Hospital for Children. The club will be going gold all throughout Gillette Stadium, with custom gold team gear, gold nets and match balls, and more. To recognize those currently fighting cancer, those who have overcome their fight, and those who devote their time to research and healthcare, the club will also host a number of pregame activations in the Fan Zone, and recognize a local Hero of the Match and Honorary Captain. Matt Turner will once again welcome a local cancer patient and his family for the match as part of Matt's NEGU Crew (Never, Ever Give Up), and Scott Caldwell will also host Scott's BCH Dream Team, which gives a group of patients from Boston Children's Hospital a unique matchday VIP experience. Prior to the game, the Revolution will also host an Audi Drive Series, collecting party supplies at all stadium gates to benefit The Confetti Foundation.
