TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (34-17-4-5) play their first of three in four nights against the Alaska Aces (29-23-3-4). Ontario has a 4-2-0-0 record against Alaska this season. Alaska is one of the hotter teams in the Pacific Division, as the club has earned eight of a possible 10 points over its last five matches. This week's series marks the final time that the Reign will face the Aces at Citizens Business Bank Arena in the ECHL.
COUTURE LEADS THE WAY AGAINST ACES:
Derek Couture holds the team scoring lead in play against the Aces this season with five points (1g-4a) in four games against Alaska. Not only did he score the eventual game-winner against Utah on Sunday, but the Reign captain now has three points (2g-1a) over his last three games. However, the Reign captain was placed on reserve on Tuesday, calling into question whether he will dress this evening against Alaska.
SHOTS PILING UP:
Since returning home for their season-high seven-game home stand at Citizens Business Bank Arena, the Reign have averaged 32.33 shots for per game, while only surrendering 19 shots against per game.
OLKINUORA FOUR WINS AWAY FROM HISTORY:
With 33 career wins in a Reign uniform, Jussi Olkinuora's next four victories will give him sole possession of first place of the club's career wins record, currently held by Chris Carrozzi, who suited up with the Reign from 2011-13.
