Eagles Add Amateur Defenseman Lauwers

WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the NHL's Calgary Flames and Adirondack Flames of the AHL, announced Wednesday that they have signed defenseman Dax Lauwers to an Amateur Tryout Agreement.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound blueliner recently finished a four-year collegiate career, with the first season spent at the United States Military Academy and the past three seasons with Northeastern University. The Anchorage, Alaska native posted 14 points and 156 penalty minutes in 139 NCAA contests.

Lauwers is expected to join the Eagles in the line-up on Friday, as they begin a two-game series against the Idaho Steelheads in Boise.
