Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans suffered a 4-0 loss on Wednesday night at home to the Wichita Thunder. The loss was Allen's 4th in a row.
The Americans gave up two quick goals in the second period to go down 3-0 nothing, and they never recovered. Justin Bernhardt added his second of the night in the third period to give the Thunder a 4-0 lead and Wichita would win by that score.
The loss was Allen's eighth in a row at home and the first time they've been shutout all season. The Americans have not won a home game since January 29th.
The Americans failed to nail down a playoff spot for the 4th game in a row. Allen is a victory away or an overtime or shootout loss away from clinching a playoff berth.
Chad Costello saw his 12 game point streak come to an end on Wednesday night. Costello leads the ECHL in points with 101.
The Americans return to the ice on Friday night in Wichita. Allen is back at home on Sunday afternoon against the Tulsa Oilers at 4:05 pm.
