Idaho Adds Defenseman; Livingston Returns
March 18, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release
Boise, ID (3/18/2015) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Wednesday that defenseman William Wrenn has joined the team after being assigned to Idaho by Texas of the American Hockey League and that forward James Livingston has re-joined the team after being released from his tryout contract with the AHL's Springfield Falcons.
Idaho (ECHL) and Texas (AHL) are the primary development affiliates of the NHL's Dallas Stars.
Wrenn, 24, has spent the past two seasons with Texas but isn't new to the ECHL. He appeared in 51 games - two against Idaho - with the Alaska Aces during the 2012-13 season as a first-year pro out of the Western Hockey League. In all, Wrenn has appeared in 93 games at the AHL level, collecting five goals, 12 assists and a plus-3 rating to go along with 80 penalty minutes. He was a second-round draft choice of the San Jose Sharks in 2009.
The 25-year-old Livingston appeared in six games with Springfield, bringing his career AHL total to 208 games played. This is his first season with the Steelheads, where he has appeared in 47 games and netted 12 goals. He picked up goals in each of his last three games with Idaho prior to his callup.
In a separate transaction, forward Tom Serratore has been released. He had two goals and a plus-4 rating in eight games with Idaho.
Wrenn and Livingston are expected to be available Friday night when the Steelheads host the Colorado Eagles at CenturyLink Arena. Game time is 7:10 PM and tickets are available by calling the CenturyLink Arena box office at 208-331-8497.
Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of Lays chips with each ticket. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
