After a 3-0 win over the weekend against LAFC, Sounders FC (6-2-3, 21 points) travels to face the Portland Timbers (5-4-3, 18 points) on Wednesday evening at Providence Park (7:00 p.m. PT / JOEtv, Amazon Prime Video, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM). Wednesday's match marks Seattle's first of two road fixtures this week, with the club traveling to face the LA Galaxy on Sunday, September 27 (7:30 p.m. PT / JOEtv, Amazon Prime Video, 1090 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).

This marks the third meeting between Seattle and Portland this season. The two sides met on August 23 in the first match following the MLS is Back Tournament (which Portland won), with Sounders FC winning 3-0 at Providence Park. The Timbers got revenge on August 30, earning a 2-1 win at CenturyLink Field. Dating back to 1975, Seattle and Portland have met 109 times, with the Sounders leading the all-time series 54-41-14.
