ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The Indians built an early 5-1 lead behind home runs from Rodolfo Castro and Ji-Hwan Bae, but the Redbirds scored five runs over the final three innings to hand Indy its third consecutive loss on Saturday night, 6-5. After being held to one run through the first six frames, Memphis found success against Indians relievers Blake Weiman and Hunter Stratton (L, 1-3), the final blow coming on a two-out, tiebreaking single by Luken Baker in the ninth. The Redbirds' rally began in the seventh against Weiman when Delvin Perez and Scott Hurst notched two-out singles ahead of a three-run homer by Paul DeJong that made it 5-4. Austin Romine then tied the game with a run-scoring single off Stratton in the eighth before Baker's heroics in Memphis' final at-bat.

EVERYBODY'S DOING IT: Over the last two nights, the Indians have had two of their three largest home attendances for the season. Victory Field welcomed 12,412 fans through its gates on Friday night for the organization's largest crowd since the final home game of the 2019 season -- Aug. 31 vs. Columbus (14,883). Saturday's attendance of 11,455 was the third-largest home crowd of the season, too. The Indians rank sixth in the International League in total attendance (220,545) and average attendance (6,892).

BACKS AGAINST THE WALL: The Indians enter today's series finale seeking a victory and series split. Indy finds itself one game below .500 (34-35) for an eighth time this season (also: 0-1, 1-2, 7-8, 15-16, 16-17, 30-31, 31-32). The Indians have climbed back to .500 in each of their previous seven games where they entered the day a game below .500. They have won three of those games by one run, three by two runs and one by six runs, outscoring their opponents 39-24 in those seven games combined.

HE'S A-BAE-ZING: Ji-Hwan Bae continued his torrid month of June last night with two hits in four at-bats, including his seventh home run of the season. He has reached base safely in 55 of his 64 games played this season. After batting .322 (29-for-90) over 24 games in May, Bae is hitting .345 (30-for-87) with eight extra-base hits in 21 June contests. The 22-year-old ranks among league leaders in runs scored (T-3rd, 49), average (4th, .311), hits (4th, 76), triples (T-5th, 4), stolen bases (T-5th, 17), total bases (9th, 120) and doubles (T-10th, 15).

CASTRO CRUSH: Rodolfo Castro launched a three-run home run in the first inning last night for his sixth of the season with Indianapolis. The long ball traveled 433 feet onto the lawn in center field. Three of Castro's home runs for Indy have come with two-plus runners on base (two three-run homers, one grand slam), the most on the team.

CAN'T COOL SWAGS: Travis Swaggerty recorded a first-inning single last night, and he has now hit safely in 23 of his last 27 games with a .333 average (35-for-105), 12 extra-base hits (five doubles, three triples, four home runs) and 22 RBI dating back to May 17. In June, he has hit safely in 12 of 14 games, four of which have been multi-hit contests, with a .296 average (16-for-54) and .904 OPS.

YOSHI ON THE MEND: Yoshi Tsutsugo played seven innings last night and went 1-for-3 with a single, RBI and run scored. Through three games on his rehab assignment, Tsutsugo is batting .571 (4-for-7) with one RBI, two walks and one strikeout in nine plate appearances.

BE LIKE MIKE: Indians pitcher Mike Burrows got the nod last night for his second career Triple-A start and first at Victory Field. He yielded one earned run on a Scott Hurst solo shot in the third inning, his lone blemish over 4.1 innings. Burrows, 22, scattered five hits and struck out four in a no-decision. Through 14 starts between Double- and Triple-A, Burrows is 4-2 with a 3.03 ERA (20er/59.1ip), 77 strikeouts, 1.11 WHIP and .213 average against (47-for-221).

TODAY: After winning the first two games of the series, the Indians have dropped three straight against the Redbirds. The Indians will send RHP Bryse Wilson to the bump for his second start of the series. Wilson owns three of Indy's four quality starts on the season, and he picked up his third in the series-opening win on Tuesday (7.1ip, 7h, 2r, 2er, 0bb, 10k). He will be opposed by southpaw Connor Thomas. Thomas is rated as St. Louis' No. 17 prospect by MLB Pipeline. He faced the Indians on June 17, 2021 at Victory Field and held Indy to one earned run on two hits with four strikeouts in 3.1 innings of relief.

THIS DATE IN 2013: In the fifth game of a hitting streak, Josh Harrison finished a home run shy of the cycle after going 4-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, two RBI and three runs scored in a 9-7 loss to Rochester. He hit .500 (11-for-22) with eight extra-base hits and nine RBI during those five games, a stretch that included a six-RBI game on June 24 when he laced a pair of three-run triples. He was recalled by Pittsburgh the very next day on June 27.
