LAST NIGHT: The Indians piled up 22 baserunners (13 hits, 6 walks, 3 hit batsmen) in a 5-2 win over the Bats on Friday night. Indy plated two in the first on a Will Craig sac fly and RBI single by Trayvon Robinson. The Indians then added single runs in the third, fourth and sixth, with Craig and Ke'Bryan Hayes recording RBI singles and Eric Wood drawing a bases-loaded walk. James Marvel (W, 5-0) mastered Louisville with seven innings of two-run ball, fanning six and scattering six hits. Louisville scored its only two runs of the game in the fifth on a Nick Longhi RBI groundout and RBI single by former Indian Ryan Lavarnway. Montana DuRapau (S, 10) pitched a scoreless ninth for the save. The Indians left a season-high 15 runners on base in the win.

KING JAMES: RHP James Marvel continued his dominance in Triple-A with another quality start last night (7.0ip, 6h, 2r, 2er, 0bb, 6k), his sixth in nine starts for the Tribe. In his last 15 starts between Double- and Triple-A, the Altoona Curve and Indy Indians have combined for a 14-1 record. Since making his Triple-A debut on July 5, Marvel ranks among IL leaders in average against (1st, .202), ERA (2nd, 2.72), WHIP (2nd, 1.09), wins (T-2nd, 5), GIDP (T-4th, 6), innings pitched (7th, 49.2) and strikeouts (T-8th, 44).

ELMO'S WORLD: UTIL Jake Elmore has hit safely in 16 of his last 19 and 19 of his last 23 games overall, is first in the league in batting at .342 (113-for-330), ranks third in OBP (.409) and is fourth in doubles (31). Indy's last batting champion was Junior Noboa (.340) in 1989 and they have had just four batting titles since 1969 (also: Bernie Carbo in 1969, Gene Locklear in 1972, Dallas Williams in 1987). Elmore's .342 average for the season would be the highest single-season qualifying average by an Indy player since Williams hit .357 in 1987.

THE KE'Y TO SUCCESS: 3B Ke'Bryan Hayes finished 4-for-5 with one RBI, one run scored and a stolen base last night, his team-leading 12th swipe of the season (13 attempts). Two of his four hits were of the infield variety. The 22-year-old has nine hits in his last 12 at-bats to raise his average to .260, the highest it's been since sitting at .260 on May 14.

JUST ANOTHER TRAY: In his last 19 games, OF Trayvon Robinson is hitting .319 (22-for-69) with three homers, one triple, two doubles, 12 RBI and four runs scored. The 31-year-old's season average rests at .309, and he has been above .300 for all but a six-day stretch (April 5-10).

MONTAINIA: RHP Montana DuRapau nailed down his 10th save in as many opportunities last night, making him one of two relievers in the IL with 10-plus saves (Pawtucket's Trevor Kelley has 12). DuRapau, 27, had just one career save in 26 appearances for Indy prior to this season. He is now 64-for-70 (91.4 percent) in career save chances and hasn't been charged with a blown save since May 13, 2017 with Double-A Altoona. He has converted 21 straight save chances.

BEAT THE BATS: Last night's victory improved the Indians to 12-7 against the Bats this season (6-4 at home, 6-3 at Louisville Slugger Field) with only four games remaining between the two clubs. The Indians have now won the season series over Louisville in two of the last three campaigns, going 15-8 in 2017 and 10-10 last summer. The Tribe are also 33-29 against the IL West with 10 divisional games to play; Indy has finished over .500 in the division each of the last two years and six of the last seven seasons overall.

THE LONG BALL: The Indians offense has piled up 130 home runs at the plate, their highest total in a campaign since belting 157 in 2005. Indy's staff also gave up two home runs Thursday night to tie the franchise record for homers allowed in a season (also: 2005). The Tribe are on pace to surrender a franchise record 156 home runs.
